Scope and Nature of the Function:
A dental ceramist will do the following:

	Review prescriptions and determine work processes;
	Take ownership of a case from the pre-operative stage, articulate pre-operative models, design diagnostic wax-up, fabricate matrices of the wax-up models and replicate them in porcelain with a usage of inner and outer tooth anatomy;
	Fabricate jacket crowns, or veneers, including porcelain fused to metal;
	Operate and perform user maintenance for porcelain furnace and other ceramic equipment;
	Use a knowledge of the physics of light for proper shading and development of hues and shades of duplicate natural tooth colors, including staining, simulated fillings, fissures, and other abnormalities;
	Select and match correct shade of teeth.

A perfect candidate should have ability to handle multiple dental projects simultaneously as well as to take ownership of various tasks and drive them through to completion.

The position requires good dexterity skills as well as eye for details. Artistic skills are important.

Key Responsibilities:
 

	Fabricating metal free restorations
	Planning and fabricating 3 dimensional models of teeth out of wax
	Assisting the master technician in all other dental tasks

Qualifications:

	Artistic skills required.
	Must display initiative, demonstrate solid interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment.
	Highly motivated and flexible with the ability to adapt quickly to new situations/challenges.
	Ability to work independently without supervision.
	Positive, constructive and caring for others
